Description
In
September 2008, the World Congress on Treatment and
Research in Multiple Sclerosis
held the first joint meeting of the Americas Committee
on Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS)
and its European (ECTRIMS) and Latin American (LACTRIMS)
counterparts. Please join us for a live, 1.5-hour
dinner program designed to share carefully selected,
clinically relevant highlights from the data presented
at this international congress. Topics to be discussed
include emerging imaging techniques, surrogate markers,
and data from clinical trials of existing and emerging
therapies for MS. Following a 1-hour presentation,
participants will have the opportunity to engage in
a 30-minute question-and-answer session.
All participants will receive an activity workbook
containing a copy of the slides presented.

Audience
The target audience for this activity is
neurologists, neuroscience nurses, and other healthcare
professionals who manage patients with MS.
Educational
Objectives
Upon completion of
this course, the participants should be able to:
- Describe
the emerging data on the immuno-pathology of MS
and its clinical relevance
- Discuss
emerging surrogate markers and new imaging techniques
with clinical relevance
- Evaluate
data regarding emerging MS therapies
- Evaluate
data regarding new treatment trials
